A Nonprofit Coexistence Fund

Where Ranching Meets Conservation.

We compensate ranchers for livestock lost to predators, so mountain lions, wolves, and other apex species do not have to die in retaliation. Protect the herd. Preserve the wild.

The Core Insight

Change the math,
change the outcome.

The entire model rests on a simple, evidence-based truth.

01

When ranchers lose livestock

Retaliation follows. Predators are trapped, poisoned, or shot. Populations decline. Ecosystems destabilize.

02

When losses are compensated

Retaliation disappears. Families stay financially whole. Apex predators stay alive. Working lands and wild lands support each other.

How the Harmony Fund Works

Five steps. Predictable outcomes.

The program is designed to be operationally simple for ranchers and scientifically rigorous for funders.

01

Enroll

Ranchers join and pay a small premium based on herd size and regional predator density. Enrollment takes under fifteen minutes.

02

Incident

When a predator kills livestock, the rancher opens the RWHF mobile app and starts a claim directly from the pasture.

03

Submit

The rancher submits timestamped photos, auto-captured GPS, and a brief description: tracks, scat, bite patterns, predator signs.

04

Verify

Our verification team of wildlife biologists, field investigators, and AI-assisted image tools reviews the claim.

05

Resolve

Within 72 hours of approval, the rancher receives replacement livestock or a direct payment at fair market value.

Who Benefits

Impact that compounds.

Every claim paid protects a family, spares a predator, and strengthens an ecosystem.

🏡

Ranching Families

Family ranchers, sheep farmers, cattle ranchers, goat and alpaca operations, and Indigenous livestock keepers across the American West.

🐾

Keystone Species

Mountain lions, wolves, coyotes, bears, and bobcats, plus the raptors and scavengers that depend on stable prey webs.

🌲

Working Landscapes

Forest ecosystems, riparian zones, watersheds, biodiversity networks, and the rural tourism economies that depend on them.

“We remove the economic burden of predator attacks so ranchers never again feel forced to kill mountain lions, wolves, or bears. We replace their livestock, and they let wildlife live.” The RWHF Promise

How Claims Work

Built for the pasture,
not the boardroom.

Step 1 · Incident

A predator kills livestock.

Act quickly, but safely. Do not disturb the carcass more than needed for photos. Note the time.

Step 2 · Submit

Open the RWHF app and start a claim.

Upload timestamped photos. GPS location is auto-captured. Add a short description of what you observed: tracks, scat, bite patterns, predator signs.

Step 3 · Verify

Our team reviews the claim.

A wildlife biologist plus AI-assisted image tools analyze the submission. A field visit is scheduled if needed. Expect an initial response within four business hours.

Step 4 · Resolve

You receive replacement or payment within 72 hours of approval.

Choose replacement livestock sourced through local ranch networks, or a direct payment at fair market value. Your choice.

Step 5 · Log

Claim data improves the next response.

Each verified claim strengthens predator movement maps, conflict hotspot analytics, and prevention planning for every member.

Why RWHF

Rare leverage. Measurable outcomes.

A blend of agriculture and ecology in a scalable, data-driven model.

⚖️

Solves a 300-year conflict

Turns a self-reinforcing pattern of retaliation into cooperation between ranching families and apex predator species.

🌱

Biodiversity & climate

Keeping apex predators in the system maintains top-down regulation across forests, watersheds, and rangelands.

🏡

Rural economic stability

Stabilizes ranching livelihoods in tough margins. Keeps dollars circulating in rural economies through local livestock sourcing.

🛡️

Measurable reduction

Targets a 50–70% reduction in retaliatory and illegal wildlife killings in pilot regions. Every claim is tracked and reportable.

📊

Scalable ecological data

Generates structured predation datasets valuable to agencies, universities, and conservation researchers.

🌎

Global alignment

Maps directly onto UN biodiversity, climate resilience, and sustainable food systems priorities. International expansion planned Years 4–5.

Guiding Principles

What we stand on.

Respect for ranching families

We partner with ranchers rather than blame them. Working families are the heart of the American West. Their livelihoods matter.

Respect for wild predators

Mountain lions, wolves, coyotes, and bears are not enemies. They are keystone species whose presence shapes ecosystems we all depend on.

Transparency

Every claim, every dollar, every outcome is trackable and reportable. Funders know exactly what their investment accomplishes.

Collaboration over blame

Decades of conflict proves that the side-taking approach fails. Cooperation between unlikely allies succeeds.
